b. Starting the mini-study

Be unobtrusive while the facilitator introduces the study.

c. Tasks 1-3

Pay attention as the facilitator presents the participant with each of the first three tasks.

Take notes on usability problems the participant encounters below. A problem occurs when the participant hesitates for a long time, says "oops" or otherwise indicates an error, gets frustrated, resorts to reading the instructions, or otherwise seems to have run into difficulties. You'll have to use your best judgment.

d. Task 4

The final task is a timed task. Type (elapsed-milliseconds) into the DrScheme interactions window while the facilitator gives instructions. Wait to press the Enter key until the participant says NOW. Hit Enter again when the participant says DONE.
