Class 27: Review for Exam 2

Summary: We review where we've been and what we've done in preparation for the second examination.

Notes:

• I will continue to reserve time at the start of class for discussion of campus events.
• A few of you reminded me that I had offered extra credit at the start of the semester for either attending campus events or supporting each other in your endeavors. Certainly, I will give you credit for supporting each other in the weeks to come, so tell me about your endeavors. I will also try to identify talks of interest. (Seth Gitter's on Friday is one.)

Form of the Exam

• Five parts
  • One set of short memorization questions
  • One set of short thought questions
  • Three longer problems, similar to activities
• Available resources:
  • Cheat sheet to be distributed tonight
  • Standard normal distribution table
  • t-table
  • R
  • The calculator on the computer
  • Your brain
• You may start the exam any time between noon and 1pm and finish any time between 2:05pm and 3pm.
• We will fill 3819 (our normal classroom) and then put the overflow into 3815 (down the hallway).
