Welcome to Exploring Bioinformatics with Python, a collection of resources for a Python-based version of Caroline St. Clair and Jonathan Visick's Exploring Bioinformaticsc: A Project-Based Approach.
While I very much appreciate the structure and approach of that text, I think that Python makes a better language for students than Perl, particularly because Python is often used in an interactive shell. This site provides alternatives to their guided projects and on-your-own projects using Python.
