SIGCSE
With the rapid evolution of technology, several topics at the SIGCSE 2002 session on the SIGCSE Committee Initiative related to the need to clarify definitions of the terms "computer science", "information technology", and "information systems". E-mail has suggested that "software engineering" be added to this list. While SIGCSE hopes that education related all of these areas will be considered appropriate for this organization, various fields do have specific foci and interests. A clarification of terminology could be helpful in identifying needs and articulating both similarities and differences among areas.
