Attendees at the SIGCSE 2002 session on the SIGCSE Committee Initiative identified several general issues related to the professional development of CS faculty:

• ACM Ed Board self-assessment program: what does it mean for SIGCSE members?

• What professional development is required for those in education?
• Could guidelines for professional development be developed?
  • How much? What kind? Whose authority?
  • Is a SIGCSE tutorial Professional development? What might be made available for those who cannot get to a Symposium?
  • What cheap (or free) on-line courses might be appropriate?
