Summary: Microsoft is now completely committed to piling heavy-handed digital-restrictions management onto the next major version (Vista, previously known as Longhorn) of Windows, even though many existing peripherals (monitors and speakers) do not support it and will not be usable under Vista.

This is great news, since it will be a serious impediment to widespread acceptance of Vista.
