Martínez, Guillermo. The Oxford murders, translated by Sonia Soto. San Francisco, California: MacAdam/Cage Publishing, 2005. ISBN 1-59692-150-1.
Summary: In Oxford, a young mathematician and an elderly logician investigate a series of murders, each announced by a message “inviting” the logician to the murder and giving its place and time, along with a cryptic symbol, different for each murder, but presumably forming a meaningful series.
The author shares some of Borges's interests and enthusiasms, but has a contemporary outlook and style that fit the lightweight plot better.
