Cipra, Barry, et al., eds. Tribute to a mathemagician. Wellesley, Massachusetts: A K Peters, 2005. ISBN 1-56881-204-3.
Summary: A collection of short, diverse articles on puzzles and other mathematical and logological recreations, in honor of Martin Gardner, who wrote a monthly column on such matters for Scientific American for twenty-five years. One of my favorites was Ed Pegg, Jr.'s “Polyform patterns,” which discusses some new generalizations of polyominoes and displays some of the patterns that unbelievably patient constructors have made from exotically shaped pieces.
