Papdimoulis, Alex. “Injection rejection.” The daily WTF, May 17, 2006.
Summary: By typing in subtly chosen phony usernames that contain SQL metacharacters, system crackers can sometimes exploit a poorly written user interface that uses a database to check login information. A team of inept programmers, trying to prevent attacks of this type, elected to bar usernames that contain SQL keywords. This had the side effect of barring logins by Seth, Amanda, and George (SETh, amANDa, geORge, ...).
