Tey, Josephine. The daughter of time. New York: Dell, 1964 (originally published by Macmillan in 1951).
Summary: A police detective, slowly recovering from an injury, passes the time by studying the life of Richard III of England. He gradually discovers that the popular view of Richard as a wicked man who imprisoned and killed two of his nephews to prevent them from succeeding to the throne is entirely erroneous, and applies his investigative skills to reconstruct an account more consistent with the evidence.
