Hacking gadflies

Crews, Frederick. Follies of the wise: dissenting essays. Shoemaker & Hoard, 2006. ISBN 1-59376-101-5.

Summary: Pointed, brilliantly argued, beautifully written attacks on pseudo-scientific and anti-scientific fads promoted by people who should know better. The longest and most detailed series deals primarily with Freudian psychotherapy, but Crews also assesses several other psychological extravagances (repressed-memory syndrome, Rorschach testing), creationism, theosophy, and deconstructionism.
