At last, the first major release of the specification of the Atom document
format for syndication feeds has been published. It is essentially
unchanged from the last draft before release (Atom 0.9), so the students in
the GIST project will not have to modify their
software in order to have it generate and operate on Atom 1.0 feeds (except
to change the URL for the Atom namespace, which is now
http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom).
