Two months after I last updated this observation, I learn that our administrators' preference for the semblance of professionalism has only been briefly dormant, not (as I had hoped) ridiculed to death: At 2 p.m. tomorrow (September 14), all College offices will be closed while the staff attends an Open Forum with President Osgood “to discuss a policy on workplace attire.”
No word yet about whether the prescribed attire for administrative assistants will include fold-out paper hats printed with the logo of the College and the motto “Verisimilitas et microtractatio.”
