Calculus Group Assignment: Exponentials and Logarithms

Unless otherwise specified, problems for this group assignment come from our textbook, Calculus by James Stewart. In particular, problems come from Section 7.2 and 7.3 (NOT 7.2* and 7.3*). Problems for Section 7.2 appear on pages 402-404, and problems for Section 7.3 appear on pages 409-411.

For each of the following problems, write a careful solution. That is,

Do each of the following problems:

  1. Find the exponential function f(x) = C ax that contains the points (1,6) and (3,54). (In this problem, consider both C and a to be constants.)
  2. Section 7.2(48)
  3. Section 7.2(60) (assume t ≥ 0)
  4. Section 7.3(40)
  5. Section 7.3(44)
  6. Section 7.3(64)
