Project Description - Round 3
After discussing the user interface, both in groups and in class,
individuals e-mailed their preferences to the instructor. While views
varied considerably on a few points, the following conclusions reflect
the preponderance of opinions.
-
The basic/initial user interface should have the following elements:
-
A two-week schedule for the individual, with these properties:
-
The schedule should start on the Monday of the current week.
-
The current day should be highlighted in color.
-
The schedule for days before the current day should be shown, but not
changeable.
-
Clicking on any time in either the current day or future days should
bring up a log-in.
-
A log in screen, so folks could log in directly.
-
A Directions/Announcements box, so students can see any class
announcements, and so new comers will know how to make appointments.
-
A monthly calendar
Clicking on any week should bring up the schedule for that week.
-
Previous/next arrow buttons should allow movement to other months
-
A two-week schedule with full sign-up options for the person logged in.
This option arises after the person logs in.
-
Clicking on any box yields an appointment or message consistent with
that person's capabilities to make, break, or change appointments.
-
Navigation and announcement boxes are as described for the basic interface.
