Class Discussion Questions
In several courses, students are expected to read some materials in
advance of a class and then submit n questions for discussion.
A typical approach involves both the submission of questions by students,
the organization of these questions by the instructor, and general record
keeping of what students have submitted which questions.
Student Submission of Questions
-
Students must submit n questions by a specified time, where
n is a course constant.
-
Before the deadline, students are not allowed to view questions submitted
by others.
-
Before the deadline, students may revise their submitted questions.
Organization of Questions by Instructor
-
Once questions are submitted, an instructor may organize the questions into
categories.
-
Each category may have a heading
Record Keeping
-
Records must be kept for how many questions a student has submitted for
each assignment (with a maximum allowed per assigment).
-
After an instructor has organized questions into categories and ordered the
questions, all students in the class may view the questions (under their
headings).
-
The instructor could set whether the questions were displayed to the class
anonymously or with attribution.
-
A report should tell the instructor how many questions have been submitted
for each student.
-
A report should tell a student how many questions have been submitted for
that student.
