Recent expansion regarding statistics

• The department now has 2 statisticians: Ms. Kuiper and Mr. Moore
• New course, MTH 309, Design and Analysis of Experiments, to be offered next spring

Conversations among the departmental faculty:

• Restructuring the Math/CS Department has been discussed for some time by faculty
• Faculty have reached amicable consensus
• This is an opportunity for conversations with students
• The Department expects to make a formal proposal to the Science Division and Executive Committee this fall.
• Eventually, approval needed by both the full faculty and the trustees
