While incoming students may be accustomed to using the Internet for finding information,
they tend to accept information without analysis
they rarely check sources
Since students believe they know how to find material, intervention is needed to demonstrate deficiencies in their approaches
A hands-on, just-in-time approach can be effective
students understand the need for critical analysis
students increase their sophistication

Research exercises allow a reasonable framework
