Project

A major part of this class is the final project. For the project, you will work with a group to plan and implement a data visualization using datasets and visualization techniques of your choosing. Your main objective is to identify an interesting question that you can answer using a dataset, then present the data in a meaningful way that helps users to answer that question.

The project will include a proposal, possible revisions to this proposal, an implementation, presentation in the last week of class, and a final report. You will also write critiques of other students’ visualizations, which we will practice using existing visualizations earlier in the semester.

Your final grade on the project will be based on these components, using the following proportions:
